The Universal Temple is the hub of all activities. All people, irrespective of religion, caste, creed, race, and nationality are welcome here. They can either participate in the worship, bhajans, arati, etc or engage themselves in silent prayer or meditation. In the Ashrama Main Temple - daily worship of Sri Ramakrishna, Ma Sarada Devi & Swami Vivekananda; morning and evening prayers and Ramnam Sankirtan during Ekadashi days are performed. On the birthdays of the direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, the lives and teachings of the respective disciples are discussed after evening arati. Again, regular classes in the temple are held by Swami Jayadurgananda (Sri Sri Mayer Katha on Tuesday), Swami Dwijendrananda (Ramakrishna Kathamrita on Thursday) and Swami Tyagarupananda (Bhagavat Gita on Sunday) by turns after the evening arati. Kali-kirtan is sung in chorus on Saturdays and draws enthusiastic participation of the devotees.
